Games, classes, Kunsthaus ("Art House," Contemporary Art Museum)
On Tuesday, we started with some word games. Students had to give a word to describe Graz or an activity that they've done here, and the next student had to give a word that started with the letter that the previous word ended with. Then, we went through the alphabet, and students listed all of the German words that they could think of for each letter.
After classes and lunch, the students again nominated their peers that best exemplified the IUHPFL Core Values.
On our last full day in Graz (Thursday, July 6), we will give our host families a magazine that the students have created to commemorate their time in Graz. Each student has one page to design as they choose: draw pictures, write a poem, paste photographs, etc. Today, the students started brainstorming these pages because they have one week to work on them.
We ended our day with a visit to the Kunsthaus in Graz. This is a contemporary art museum that is affectionately called the "Friendly Alien." The museum doesn't have any permanent exhibits, but instead features international art exhibits on a rotating basis. Here we are on our way to the museum from school.
We only have a few pictures from inside the museum because it was unclear if we were allowed to take pictures or not.
Here you can see the Uhrturm (clock tower) through one of the circular windows in one of the exhibition halls.
The top floor offers some beautiful views of the city.
The students definitely realize that time is flying, and that it won't be long before they will be "back home again in Indiana."
(only 13 more days)
