Wednesday, June 21

Today was another busy day, and it was also super hot. (It got up to 89 degrees.) It's quite impressive that one of our students rides his bike to school.

We started our day with some word games that students completed in groups. Students were given a letter in the alphabet, and they had to write down as many German words as they could in one minute. Then, someone from each group read their words aloud, and each group only got points for the number of unique words on their list. Some groups earned quite a few points.

After this, students played a group verb conjugation game to see which group could conjugate verbs the fastest.  Of course, they also had to have the correct conjugation.

After these warm-ups, we had our three classes.  Here are some pictures from class and the breaks:

After lunch, we headed to the Mur Insel (Mur island, which is a manmade island in the middle of the Mur River). Here students enjoyed different kinds of pop, coffee, ice cream, and milk shakes.

Students have bought a lot of postcards because they want to tell their family and friends about their adventures in Graz. For that reason, after our visit to the Mur Insel, we headed to the post office so that students could buy stamps and send off the postcards that they had already written.  A stamp for a postcard to the US costs 1 euro 90 cents. Hopefully, some of you will get one. :)
